Energy reigns in western North Dakota
In addition to tapping the wealth of its abundant energy and human resources, locating in North Dakota will allow your business to maximize profits and minimize costs. And here’s why:

  • Real estate costs are the second lowest in the country. A typical 1,200 to 1,500 square foot home in the area sells for between $85,000 and $120,000. Commercial real estate sells for $500 to $1,000 per acre, but most industrial site leases are negotiable, particularly adjacent to existing facilities.
  • Tax incentives are available on property, corporate, sales and use, as well as exemptions and subsidies for developingagricultural processes, ethanol and wind energy. A study comparing the comprehensive 10-year tax costs of a 66,000-square-foot manufacturing facility found that North Dakota’s would be lowest among 10 competing locations.
  • Electricity costs average 4.1 cents per kWh for industrial users, compared to a national average of 5.2 cents per kWh. Three investor-owned utilities, five generation and transmission cooperatives and 17 distribution cooperatives operate in the state.
  • Workers compensation premiums are the lowest in the nation
